Book Fair
Share the excitement of students choosing and buying their own books, also a great way to add to teacher’s classroom book list
Summer Reading Incentive Party
Help scoop ice cream and hand out books at this special party for Davenport’s summer readers
School Photos
Volunteers needed to help make the day ‘picture perfect’
Visiting Authors
Help coordinate these days when our students get to meet famous authors Dan Gutman (gr. 3 – 5) or Ted Arnold (gr. K – 2)
Bingo Night
Calling all volunteers to work at this fun family activity
Wish Upon A Star
Help brighten the holiday of a special Davenport student
Boys Night Out
   Help plan a special night out for Davenport boys and their mom, grandmom, aunt, etc.
Girls Night Out
   Help plan a special night out for Davenport girls and their dad, granddad, uncle, etc.
Candy Bar Sales
   Assist in the distribution of candy boxes to classrooms
Wine Tasting/Auction
   An exciting night out for adults only. Help plan & organize this new event
Kindergarten Orientation
   Help greet the incoming 2004/2005 kindergarten students and their parents
Staff Appreciation Week
   Be a part of the planning and execution of this special week to thank our wonderful Davenport staff for all their efforts during the year
Staff Breakfast
   Assist in this unique morning when the PTO pampers our staff
Closing Ceremonies
   Join in the fun of planning a grand send off for the graduating Class of 2004

Gator Alley
 Davenport’s school store needs sales clerks several times during the year
Book Club
 Volunteers needed for this unique happening where students and their parents read and discuss a book together during the evening at school (4 nights per grade level)
Enrichment Committee
 Be a part of facilitating outside performances geared towards enriching each grade level’s academic pursuits
Kindergarten Playground
 Help raise funds to update the Kindergarten playground. Great for current and /or future kindergarten parents
Learning To Look
 Art Appreciation taught by parents. Don’t worry if you don’t know Monet from Manet, we’ll supply the lesson plans. Culminates in a trip to the Met in NYC
Media Center
 Volunteers needed for various duties in our own library. Once a week or once a month, it’s up to you
New Parent Partnership
 Sign up to be a ‘mentor’ to an incoming parent
One-On-One Tutoring
 Help enrich a student’s learning experience and make a real difference in their lives. All it takes is one hour a week – you pick the day and time
Parent Workshops
 Help out at all or one of the series of workshops aimed at getting parents more involved in their child’s education. Academic and social issues will be topics.
School Newspaper
 Volunteers needed to help out our 4th and 5th grade newspaper staff
Spirit Sale
 Show your school spirit with various Davenport logo apparel. Assist in the distribution of flyers and products
Technology Committee
 Assist in evaluating the technology needs of the school and analyzing how the PTO can best meet those needs
